New drawing "celestial"

I was mostly intending on drawing some makeup worthy eyes, and then make a girl sketch using teals and aquamarines. I was inspired by nebulas obviously, and also by Warcraft Druids having birds on their shoulders. Once the colors started flowing it was hard to stop :O

Thanks to my awesome iPhone I will try to do some video recordings of drawing and coloring in the future. I didn't have the rich combination of camera and computer to pull it off before. Here's to video! Cheers. -Becky

Dreams - copic contest entry

Sorry for the long break, I've been using Tumblr a lot instead of this blog. My tumblr name is born4catz.tumblr.com so you can see things there, as well as on facebook at facebook.com/beckypennart 

Now then, I worked on this for over a week trying to really perfect it. Busy trying not to stress over it, and having life get in the way in between.  Test after test and really trying to push myself not to push myself you know? I had to just be ME. Do it my way, and use whatever type and brand of products and methods I needed. I don't care about being consistent anymore. I'm an artist, it's what we do.

Lesson learned: there's a time to plan, a time to test, a time to think ahead and choose the best color scheme and media... but there is also a time to just go for it and embrace mistakes. 

I'll carry on from here. 

The hard work is paying off and it's getting a lot of attention, I want to soar up from here. 

Steampunk WIP

So on goSupermodel I was working on a magazine where I can show off all of my wardrobe "looks" and I wanted to do a page entirely for steampunk looks. (I would really love a SP collection soon.)
I needed a background for the looks to be amazing so I started in painterX and got totally angry because it wasn't doing what I wanted which was photoshop. Painter is great I just need to spend more time with it and be less about expectations.
Going back to my tried and true markers, I felt much more at home and ready to tackle my plan. I'm rustier than the titanic but this is a start.

I really need to draw more lol. On the plus side, I just had a bunch of designs released for "fall fashion week" people were able to buy and also win exclusive designs by moi, as well as some of the other JDs.
